On the 10th of June, 2009 the Youth Forum “We are young! Is it easy?” will take place in the International informational exhibition centre “InfoSpace”. The Forum will summarize the results of the two-year project «Youth centre», carried out by Taganka Children's Fund in partnership with the Scottish charity Quarriers and under the European Union funding.
«The Youth centre» - is the project aimed at development, integration and social adaptation of teenagers including young people affected by disability and also at building an active social position and self-confidence regardless of difficult life conditions.
The problems of teenagers and young people are widely discussed in the press and society, by the politicians and by the teenagers themselves. However, unfortunately, the attention is focused on problems such as: alcohol and drug addiction, unusual appearance, unwillingness to study or work, disrespect for the senior generation and others. It is no doubt that we should speak about problems, but it is more important to show positive aspects of the life of teenagers and young people.
The understanding of teenagers and young people is very important not only for spreading the idea of tolerance in the society, but also for developing a competent policy of the government work with the youth. For this reason it is extremely important to let young people declare their interests and difficulties. They should be heard by those who can influence their future.
The discussion on the Forum will include interests, problems, values of young people and will be organized in a talk-show format. Young people – the participants of the “Youth Centre” made an independent film, in which they tried to find the answers to the most significant questions for them.
Not only teenagers and young people visiting the Center, but also «Older generation» will take part in discussion: teachers and HR-specialists, doctors and beginning sportsmen, parents and other interested people. Participation of the members of the Youth Council is supposed. Among the invited visitors – representatives of the European Commission in Moscow.
Presenters of the Youth Forum are Alexandra Groysman and Nikita Belogolovtsev – presenters of the youth talk-show «Only at night» on the ТВЦ channel.
